The Infamous Stringdusters’ guitarist Andy Falco shared a tour update stating he will be sitting out the band’s shows planned for May so he can tend to his 13-day-old newborn who is currently recovering from surgery. He will be replaced by American guitarist Jon Stickley.

In the statement, Falco shared the details of the situation, saying “As many of you might know, my wife Jasmine recently gave birth to our beautiful son Teddy. After a little over a week at home, we realized he was having issues holding down his food, and a visit to the pediatrician sent us immediately to the emergency room.” He continued to share that after the visit the doctor determined surgery was needed to fix the issue which was successfully performed.

Falco continued to share, “Giving a 13-day old newborn abdominal surgery is very precarious, and we will be living in the hospital with him for at least the next several weeks as he recovers.” He went on to say that while his family is not in the clear yet it is expected Teddy will make a full recovery and be able to return home and to normal life.

Falco said of Stickley, “I couldn’t think of a better fit to sub in, and look forward to returning as soon as Teddy gets better.”
