Grateful Shred have announced dates for their spring tour, co-presented by Relix, PHILM and Grateful Shred Industries. The 21-date tour is dubbed Go East III, in commemoration of the Los Angeles-based band’s third tour around the East Coast.
The Go East III tour kicks off on April 22 at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, Calif., followed by a stop in Tempe, Ariz. on April 24. From there, the band will groove over to The Centennial State for four shows, before heading to Lawrence, Kan. for one night at Waiting Room on May 1.
The rockers will perform at Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia, Pa. on May 5, prior to their three-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 6 through 8. Grateful Shred will then play at Elevation 27 in Virginia Beach, Va. on May 10.
Next, the group will perform at Salvage Station in Asheville, N.C. on May 12, followed by two nights at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, Tenn. on May 13 and 14. The tour will conclude at Thalia Hall in Chicago on May 15.
Go East III is Grateful Shreds largest tour to date, and follows the success of last year’s Shred 420: Live at Liberty Hair Farm broadcast, a sold-out concert tape and 2021’s West Coast run which included sold-out headline shows at the historic Libbey Bowl in Ojai, Calif., Roaring Camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains and a New Year’s Eve show at The Regent in Los Angeles.
Core members, Austin McCutchen and Dan Horne recently welcomed drummer and vocalist Alex Koford (Phil and Friends, Terrapin Family Band) to join the band, he will unite with longtime Grateful Shred collaborator, Austin Beade on drums. This move created a symbiotic double drum relationship, not unlike Billy and Mickey–the rhythm devils. Additionally, the band will welcome keyboardist, and Horne’s fellow bandmate in Circles Around the Sun, Adam MacDougall for the festivities.
