While 88-year-old blues master John Mayall has announced that he will scale back on touring, it hasn’t stopped him from creating The Sun Is Shining Down, a new album out Jan. 28, 2022.
“I couldn’t be happier with the new record,” Mayall said via press release. “I can’t wait to share it with my fans. Each of these special guests brings something unique to the album, and our team works so well together. I think you can hear that chemistry in the music.”
Special guests include former Heartbreaker Mike Campbell as well as Marcus King, Buddy Miller and Jake Shimabukuro.
The LP promises, “a funky, soulful affair punctuated by brass, violins, harmonica, and electric ukulele.”
