Phish opened their fall tour last week, playing their first indoor shows since the onset of the pandemic and giving setlist statisticians plenty to talk about.

Their Oct. 15 Sacramento opener was highlighted by a “The Final Hurrah” to kick things off and a second-set live debut of “And So To Bed.”

“And So To Bed” had never graced a Phish setlist, despite being the second track on the group’s nascent, 1986 recording The White Tape.

Also in Sacramento’s second set was “Brother” – this track hadn’t graced a setlist since Dec. 30, 2017, with a show gap of 107.

The setlist tricks continued for Phish’s Saturday in San Francisco, where they anchored their second half with their first “Frankie Says” since Aug. 8, 2015 (show gap: 196).

Other high-points in San Francisco included a high-energy “Possum” opener, a wide-spanning “Simple”> “Shade”> “Winterqueen”> “Meat”> “Run Like An Antelope” to close the first half and a 20-minute “Carini” encore to end the show.
