Sylvan Esso have announced their line-up of special guests for their two-night headlining hometown run in North Carolina’s Historic Durham Athletic Park in 2022. The electric duo will be joined by Yo La Tengo and the Asheville-based singer-songwriter Indigo De Souza on May 20. On May 21 they’ll welcome a live performance from Durham, N.C., rap duo Little Brother and Mr Twin Sister, whose members joined Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn as part of Sylvan Esso’s WITH ensemble.
Sylvan Esso are currently in the thick of their 30-day Shaking Out The Numb tour, which kicked off at a block party at Chapel Hill, N.C.’s Cat’s Cradle to celebrate the launch of their new artist-run Durham-based record label, Psychic Hotline.
Last Friday, Sylvan Esso celebrated the one-year anniversary of their latest LP Free Love with the release of a Bandcamp-exclusive EP titled Soundtrack for MASS MoCA. All proceeds from the EP will be given to Imagine Water Works, a New Orleans organization focused on climate justice, water management and disaster readiness and response.
