The Lumineers have shared a warm and heart-wrenching video for their new ode to love “BRIGHTSIDE.” The song was released on Sept. 20th, along with the announcement of their upcoming fourth studio album of the same title. 

The video was directed by documentary filmmaker Kyle Thrash and is comprised of footage of “real-life couples and not actors” according to the band’s Twitter page. These varied vignettes take the viewer on a journey exploring the multiplicity, struggle and beauty of what it means to experience love in America. The video draws on the aesthetics of the documentary genre and captures the feel of a bricolage montage of found footage.
