Georgia-based nine-piece band Funk You has announced that their upcoming album titled Moving Forward is scheduled to be released on Sept. 10. The eight-track album is the band’s sixth studio release. The band has been on the road together for 10 years.

“Moving Forward really is exactly what it sounds like,” said Funk You percussionist and vocalist Will Clark in a press release. “We’re truly proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last decade and we can’t wait to see what is coming next.”

Moving Forward was recorded at Prana Recording Studio and mixed by Andy Headland and mastered by Chris Griffin, who is known for his work with Eric Clapton and Madonna.

Today, Funk You has also released the title track as the album’s first single. The song “Moving Forward” puts the band’s knack for instrumentation on display, and slowly builds toward a horn-driven and danceable groove.

In support of the upcoming album release, Funk You plans to hit the road for a fall tour running from September through December. The band will make additional stops at Summer Camp Music Festival, Resonance Music Festival, Brooklyn Bowl (NY), Georgia Theatre, Hulaween, Cervantes Other Side, and Old Town Pub.
