Indiana-born band Houndmouth shared two original songs earlier this week. The tracks titled “Good For You” and “Cool Jam” are the first releases by the trio since 2019.
The band garnered attention for their break-out single “Sedona” in 2015. These new tracks display a shift in sound from the indie-rockers. They’re steadier, tighter and more heavily structured on lyricism. After some time and recognition, Houndmouth seems to have taken a breath and began to go with newfound intention with not only their sound but also direction.
The tracks were recorded with Brad Cook, known for his work with Waxahatchee and Hiss Golden Messenger, and mixed by Jon Ashley known for his success with The War On Drugs, and B.J. Barham. These single marks Handmouth’s first work released through the indie-folk label, Dualtone Records.
