Artists such as Mickey Hart, Bill Frisell, Andrew Bird, Angelique Kidjo, Yo La Tengo and more have signed on for The Fall of America–A 50th Anniversary Tribute. The album honors the 50th anniversary of Ginsberg’s The Fall of America: Poems of These States 1965-1971. Each artist musically interpreted a poem for the album.

In addition to those listed above, Thurston Moore & Lee Ranaldo, Aliah Rosenthal, Devendra Banhart and more contributed to the project. Check out the full tracklisting below.

“While most people tend to reflect the brightness of the era, Ginsberg didn’t shy away from the darkness,” Mickey Hart said in a statement. “He writes the scene in all its complexity, the busts of excitements and Dionysian excesses as well as darker images, such as the sculpture of the hanged man. He forces us to recognize the children sleeping in the bed and the police cars parked outside, red lights revolving in the trees.”

Proceeds from the record will go to benefit Headcount.org. Pre-order here.
