Tonight – Jan. 20 – Bob Weir, Michael Franti and Guster’s Adam Gardner will be among the performers at incoming President Joe Biden’s virtual “Clean Energy For America Inaugural Ball.”
Speakers at the event will include Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Biden’s Energy Secretary-nominee Jennifer Granholm, as well as superstar Billie Eilish, who will connect with young voters.
Weir (and his Wolf Bros), Franti, Gardner, Akon, Train and many more will provide the tunes.
“Thrilled to be a part of this moment in history!” Weir wrote via Instagram. “We’ll be celebrating the future of clean energy with advocates, volunteers, leaders, and more.”
Virtual passes for the event can be purchased here, and according to organizers, it promises “‘much more than a Zoom hangout,’ the event is the moment when thousands of clean energy, climate and environmental justice campaign volunteers, business leaders and policy advocates who supported the Biden-Harris campaign will celebrate what is possible for the future of clean energy. The customized virtual gala hall will even include a red carpet and an entertaining night of mingling and music from top performers.”
