The Disco Biscuits have announced a free, livestreamed performance from the infield dirt of an empty Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, dubbed “The Disco Biscuits Take You Out to the Ball Game.” The performance will take place on June 23 at 7:45 p.m. ET, and it will be streamed on the YouTube and Facebook pages for The Disco Biscuits, Phillies and Live Nation, as well as on Live Nation’s Live From Home platform.

According to a press release, the free event “will call upon viewers to make charitable contributions while they watch, with 100% of all proceeds benefitting the PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund (blacklives.plus1.org). Donations will be distributed to various organizations including Urban League of Philadelphia.”

“The Disco Biscuits were in discussions with the Phillies to perform at Citizens Bank Park when the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis sparked deserved national outrage regarding the on-going struggle with racism and violence aimed at the Black Community that has plagued the United States for centuries,” continued to press release. “All partners in the event recognized that something had to be done to fight against the many systemic injustices at the root of the issue. To donate to PLUS1 for Black Lives visit https://plus1.org/discobiscuits, or text DISCO to 50155.”
