Grace Slick, the legendary Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship vocalist, released a statement in support of the nationwide protests against police brutality and systemic racism. The singer/songwriter posted a Soundcloud link to her Facebook page titled “Grace Supports the Black Lives Matter Protests.”

In the minute-long clip, Slick discusses her experience with a recent protest in Los Angeles. “Today in LA was completely peaceful,” she said. “It was beautiful – it made me cry.”

“I’m just so glad because there hasn’t been much action since the ’60s,” she continued.
