According to the University of Colorado Boulder, Dead & Company’s summer tour opener at Folsom Field has been canceled. The two-night run was set for July 10 and 11.
While the Grateful Dead offshoot has yet to clarify their plans for this summer in the wake of COVID-19, university spokesperson Josh Lindenstein has confirmed that they are “working with the concert promoter to explore the possibility of alternative dates and options.”
Dead & Company’s summer tour includes stops at historic ballparks – Chicago’s Wrigley Field on July 25/26 and a tour-closing run at Boston’s Fenway Park on Aug. 7/8 – as well as a standout show at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Aug. 1, Jerry Garcia’s birthday.
This story is still developing…

April 17, 2020 at 5:36 pmCanceled and “Working on a new date” are two completely different things to those who have tickets. Very misleading.

April 17, 2020 at 3:46 pmMaybe when they do play again, there will be special guests each night like little Christmas presents sitting under the tree to unwrap

April 17, 2020 at 3:07 pmThere’s not much left that I enjoy these days but one thing I was looking forward to was Dead and Co at Wrigley Field this year. I’m desperately sad to have to acknowledge that there will be no places to go to enjoy what I love. There goes JRAD at Red Rocks, too. So after a crap winter now us Chicagoians can have a big fat nothing to look forward to.

April 18, 2020 at 2:58 amI too had Wrigley tix. Was so looking forward to it. Colorado cancelling and every other show on tour will be canceled/postponed I’m sure, regardless of what state. Its about the timing of getting the virus under control in every state.
Please try not to be ignorant of the situation. It’s not about government trying to take away our freedom. It’s about not having a heavily infected population from the east or Florida or wherever going to less infected places and then starting at square 1. Peace to all!

April 17, 2020 at 12:31 pmSad but expected news… I look forward to the day I can happily hug my friends again as we dance in a frenzy while Bobby and the boys sings our blues away. I am grateful for the many happy moments Dead and Co and this scene has given me throughout the years. It was like therapy for me to be surrounded by so many beautiful and kind people and i want to thank you all for all the real good times! One way or another, this darkness got to give…. Love you all and we will all see each other soon❤💙

April 17, 2020 at 9:17 amJohn Mayer is a great blues guitarist. The Dead are only one part blues and many other things. It’s the other things that Mayer is not. Therefore the Grateful Dead died with Jerry Garcia along time ago. The snake that tries to catch its tail but it’s always out of reach. I guess if your dose is good you can always close your eyes and pretend.

April 17, 2020 at 10:27 amThe Grateful Dead with Jerry was great.
Dead and Company with John is also great.
Do not compare and just enjoy the ride or get off and let others enjoy their ride.

April 17, 2020 at 5:57 amPray as much as you like, dems wont let us open our country, ie coronahoax. McConnel introduced a bill in the Senate to Set Bobby Free today! Republicans have always supported the scene/Grateful Dead and freedom to do “our thing.” Only a box of cash will ease the pain and Trump see you through!!!! He gets IT. Jerry would have voted for Trump, btw.

April 17, 2020 at 12:08 amTypical Democrats/deep state……trying to ruin every Republican’s favorite band with this farce of a pandemic. They’ll go to any length to stop John and the boys from shredding the conservative paradise of Boulder.

April 17, 2020 at 12:14 amWhy did John Mayer choose this group of geriatrics for his backing band? Dude is the best guitar player that has ever lived and he’s surround by high risk patients. Shed the dead weight and get some fresh talent!
