On April 14, Carlos Santana, Buddy Guy and Wendy Oxenhorn will all be honored at New York City’s famed Apollo Theater for the Jazz Foundation of America’s annual “A Great Night in Harlem” event.

According to a press release, “Carlos Santana will be the inaugural recipient of JFA’s Claude Nobs Award, named after the late founder of Switzerland’s celebrated Montreux Jazz Festival, where the guitarist has appeared regularly over the course of many years.”

Guy – on the other hand – will receive the 2020 JFA Lifetime Achievement Award. Previous recipients include jazz masters like Clark Terry, Abbey Lincoln and Jimmy Heath.

The Quincy Jones Q & You Award will be bestowed upon Wendy Oxenhorn, who helped found “A Great Night in Harlem” in 2001 after realizing the nonprofit’s Musician Emergency Fund was in dire need of financial support. She is the Founding Director & Vice Chairman of the JFA and a skilled harmonica player, known by many as “The Barefoot Baroness.”
