On Wednesday, Umphrey’s McGee made a stop at the Graceland Soundstage in Memphis, making sure to shout out the locale with a tongue-in-cheek bustout of Paul Simon’s “Graceland” (LTP 10/1/10, show gap: 943).
Earlier, the band kicked things off with a pairing of “40’s Theme” and “White Man’s Moccasins.” The first “No Diablo” of 2020 arrived midway through the first half, before an incomplete “Soul Food II” bled into “Women Wine and Song” and “Higgins” to end the set.
UM’s second frame was highlighted by a “Nothing Too Fancy” sandwich, containing a number of segues and breaks from “Much Obliged”> “Hajimemashite” to “Ringo”> “Wife Soup” to “The Linear,” before making its way back into the original tune.
The encore, as previously mentioned, was the Simon classic, but UM were sure to leave the crowd with an original, moving into their own “Glory.”
