Brandi Carlile celebrated her second Girls Just Wanna Weekend event from Jan. 29 through Feb. 1, bringing acts like Sheryl Crow, Yola, Amanda Shires, Lake Street Dive, Lucius, Patty Griffin and more down to the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Highlights included a Crow/Carlile crossover during the former’s Jan. 31 set, wherein Carlile sang on Crow originals “If It Makes You Happy” and “Redemption Day,” before later returning for the encore of “Soak Up The Sun” (also featuring Lucius and Rita Wilson).

Lucius and Carlile stuck around for the following “I Shall Believe” to end the set.

Crow’s set also featured an unannounced appearance by Jason Isbell – the 400 Unit bandleader jammed on a mid-set cover of Bob Dylan’s “Everything is Broken,” he was also in attendance to play in the backing band for his wife Shires.

Earlier in the day Shires and a slightly altered lineup of The Highwomen appeared as the event’s “Blind Faith” act, playing a number of cuts from their namesake album, as well as their version of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain.”

However, the final night’s “Ladies of the Eighties” theme was the real highlight for many fans in attendance.

Guests included Lucius, Crow, Wilson, Lake Street Dive, Yola and many more.

The event’s namesake song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” kicked things off – with Carlile and Lucius taking the helm – and other standout covers included “Walking on Sunshine” and “Don’t You Want Me” with Crow as well as Yola’s impressive vocal performance on Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).”
