After his two-show, sold-out debut at The Capitol Theatre, Billy Strings has announced a four-date mini tour of Michigan dubbed ‘Family Strings.’ The name is fitting as Strings will be joined by his father, guitarist Terry Barber.
The short tour begins on Feb. 27 at the State Theatre in Bay City, Mich. and will conclude with a show on March 1 in Ann Arbor, Mich. In between will be a night at the City Opera House in Traverse City, Mich. on Feb. 28 followed a show at the Ionia Thatre in Ionia, Mich. on Feb. 29.
“Barber was hugely instrumental in forming Billy’s passion for traditional bluegrass,” read a press release. “Whether sitting and picking around a campfire, listening to vinyl records together, or teaching young Billy a lick or two, Barber sparked a massive passion, and what would eventually become a way of life, for Billy Strings.”
Interestingly, the graphic for the mini tour reads “Volume One” just before the dates, so perhaps fans can expect more shows by the family duo.
Tickets go on sale on Jan. 23. For more information, visit billystrings.com. Check out a full list of dates below!
