Just as they did Friday night, Umphrey’s McGee covered a Rush tune on Saturday at the Beacon Theatre in memory of late drummer Neil Peart.

The “Limelight” cover arrived in set two, following a jam-heavy first half that included a sit-in by NYC husband-wife guitar duo Mike Stern and Leni Stern on the closing “It’s About That Time.”

“Limelight” stood alone as the opener of the second half, followed by a “Der Bluten Kat” jam, which contained a segue in and out of “Higgins.”

The nods to Rush didn’t stop there, though. After “Booth Love,” a set-closing version of “All In Time” contained teases of Rush’s “The Spirit of the Radio” and “YYZ.”

Umphrey’s McGee’s NYC run continues tonight – Jan. 19 – with a sold-out show at the intimate Brooklyn Bowl.

If you can’t make it to the show, The Relix Channel is offering a free stream of the show at Relix.com/Live.
