Joe Russo will join Simon Posford of Shpongle for a performance in New York City on Sunday, Dec. 15. The show will take place at Lost Circus at Avant Gardner in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Russo and Posford have worked together often in the past; the acclaimed drummer was part of Shpongle’s live band, and he participated in the final live Shpongle shows at Red Rocks this past May.

Via his Instagram, Russo announced that this would mark the beginning of a new collaboration for the duo. “We have been scheming a new duo project for years and it finally seems to have some footing,” the post read.
“Simon came out to my studio for a few days and we worked on the concept. What we created those days was a splendid mix of improvisation and composition. We decided it was a time for trial by fire. Very happy to be joining him this Sunday in The Lost Circus at The Avant Gardener for the (pseudo) debut of this new (currently nameless) and exciting project!!” Check out the full post below.

Tickets to this show are still available and can be purchased here. For more information, head to shponglemusic.com.
