Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have announced a new charity venture, dubbed the Dawn A New Day Foundation.

The organization is named after the band’s longtime live favorite/new single (“Dawn A New Day”), and aims to “raise funds and awareness for charitable organizations that are important to the band and the community that supports them” (not unlike Phish’s WaterWheel Foundation, which supports a variety of causes).

PPPP donated $1 of each of their 2020 ticket sales to the organization, and they plan on enacting other fundraising efforts as well. The band has also partnered with mental health advocacy group Backline.

“The mission of our music is to radiate positivity and spread joy, which is what Dawn A New Day Foundation is all about,” said singer-guitarist Greg Ormont via press release. “We hope to channel that warm and fuzzy feeling and build toward a brighter future with the help of The Flock. There’s nothing more rewarding than radiating the kind of positivity you want to see in the world and then watching it ripple beyond you.”
