After a pair of dates leaked over the weekend, The Black Crowes have released the summer schedule of their Shake Your Money Maker tour, marking their first shows in five years.
The reunited band will hit over 40 cities between June 17 and Sept. 19, playing two nights at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheatre (July 7 and 8) as well as single show at Red Rocks (Aug. 30) and a tour-closer at The Forum in LA (Sept. 19)
The Black Crowes were first formed in the mid-’80s by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson. They gained popularity in the ’90s with Shake Your Money Maker, and the follow-up, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, before breaking up in 2002. They reconvened in in 2005, the group released two more albums before again calling it quits in 2015.
Tickets for the Crowes’ summer tour will go on sale Monday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. ET.
Ahead of their full tour this summer, the Crowes will usher in their reunion with a surprise performance at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on Nov. 11, followed by a show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Nov. 14. These performances mark their first public appearance since 2013.
First published by Rolling Stone, the brothers Robinson revealed the new Crowes lineup to showcase former Tedeschi Trucks Band bassist Tim LeFebvre (who also worked on David Bowie’s final Blackstar LP) as well as guitarist Isiah Mitchell of Earthless. The band will be rounded out by keyboardist Joel Robinow and drummer Raj Ojha (both of psych-rock outfit Once and Future Band).
Robinow recently toured as a part of Chris Robinson’s As The Crow Flies tribute. And as Chris told Relix, he’s a big fan, saying, “Once and Future Band are probably my favorite band on the planet that didn’t make records in 1973. [Joel] is a legendary East Bay character.”
Tickets to the intimate New York City show are available only at the Bowery Ballroom box office, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. Fans will be allowed only one ticket per person.

November 11, 2019 at 9:17 pmHoly crap… I’m not one to usually bash on bands/musicians but this is a freakin travesty. First I was thinking ok finally..BUT…wtf? I thought Rich was a good humble dude .. and The Magpie Salute were smokin the three times I saw them. But to go and call it The Black Crowes without Gorman, Ford and Pipien is so low and shitty..or at least they could have filled out the band with other ex Crowes. I can’t imagine that the brothers are that hard up for money that they need to pay hired guns scale and than try to grab as much cash as they could by charging outrageous prices playing huge sheds. The sour pusses on their faces says it all.. we’re gonna throw in the towel and become a nostalgia act. Chris lost Neal so what..he called Rich and convinced him to forget Magpie and just go for the money? They’re not gonna jam? So they’re gonna go out and play the hits, screw the guys that stuck with them, and screw the fans that still supported them albeit in separate bands. They were a great band back in the day. Seeing them at the Beacon was always a blast. But this sounds like such a shit show.. I wonder how long it’ll be til they’re at each other’s throats. Sorry guys…not interested in some fake sell outs! ✌️

November 11, 2019 at 3:30 pmThey should have named this the “Shake You Down for Money” tour! Ticket prices are insane for this nostalgia act that was always better suited for clubs and theaters than it was for arenas or amphitheaters.

November 11, 2019 at 3:07 pmHoly shit!
A) The fucking ticket prices. Disgusting! You can’t get in the pavilion for under $100 in two venues I’m close to. It’s over $300 to sit close. I think they may have over estimated their drawing power. Lots of people wanted them to come back but for over $100 for the worst seat in the pavilion fuck that. The middle of the pavilion you’re going to pay over $150. I really wanted to go and bring my little bro but I’ll wait and buy a probably super discounted ticket right before the show.
2) The lineup. Cmon guys…You can’t pay some guys that have been in the band? You need to keep it all for yourselves and get some hired guns to work for minimum wage? That makes me really think less of them. Tim from TTB is a sick player but these dudes aren’t the TBC. I’ve never bashed the the Robinsons for anything. Always was what it was to me. Lots of people talked lots of shit and I just dug the music. This is shitty looking though. I guess it really is a money grab. I still kinda want to witness it but this is not TBC. It’s nit even as much the TBC as their respective cover bands. Each respectively had more TBC members I think. This could be good but it ain’t worth $100-$300 to see them figure it out the first time. Maybe in a few years but that’s probably not going happen.
Big giant: Eh
Where's my mule?
November 11, 2019 at 2:53 pmNo Gorman no Ford no Pipien talk about a money grab should have took Magpie salute and let Chris sing with them would have been way better

November 11, 2019 at 2:36 pmSo, they both have ex-Crowes in their respective cover bands, and there are at least 15 other past members, but they have anew line-up? I;ll wait for a Black crowes reunion, thanks.

November 11, 2019 at 2:15 pmUmmmm im thinking more ‘intimate club setting’…these venues would have been a stretch for them 25 yrs ago. Sorry, investors.
Cheapness
November 11, 2019 at 1:39 pmMay go for a very discounted ticket at day of show at a local venue, just for kicks.

November 11, 2019 at 1:20 pmJust watched the announcement from Stern. I’m thinking if you really want to see them, get there on or before the Arkansas date in June. They couldn’t even look at each other and everything was forced and scripted. Zero chance they make it through the whole tour. And it’s not even the Black Crowes really.

November 11, 2019 at 12:52 pmLets just say the pricing is amusing. And should it even be on jambands when Chris says no jamming in the RS article. Rock is dead.

November 11, 2019 at 12:36 pm“The duo enlisted all-new members that include guitarist Isiah Mitchell of psych-rock band Earthless, veteran session bassist Tim LeFebvre who appeared on David Bowie’s Blackstar and keyboardist Joel Robinow and drummer Ojha of prog/psych-pop group Once and Future Band.“

November 11, 2019 at 12:03 pmWhat’s the over/under of a complete tour? That’s a lot of shows at outdoor venues in the summertime. High temps, high tension. I can’t wait.
Look who's broke!
November 11, 2019 at 11:55 amMy goodness. A bit lofty, eh? Look at the depth of that tour and the size of some of those sheds…sheesh. These guys think they are The Stones?
