Galactic have announced plans for their 25th anniversary tour, which will take them across the country in February and March. The band has a rich 25-year history, releasing ten studio albums, becoming festival staples and recently purchasing the legendary New Orleans venue Tipitina’s in order to ensure it stayed open. 

“We started down a path together 25 years ago that has led us to places both musically and business-wise that I don’t think we could have imagined when we first started out,” said drummer Stanton Moore via press release. “I don’t think we could have come this far or accomplished this much if the foundation of all we’ve done together wasn’t built on friendship and the trust we have in each other.” 

Bassist Robert Mercurio added: “I have a hard time getting my head around the fact that have been a band for 25 years… not that it is a huge surprise. We did set out on this adventure together to be a ‘band’ and to be one for a long, long time.” 

The celebratory tour will feature many guest performers, including Anders Osborne, Chali 2na, Jackie Green, Dirty Revival, Naughty Professor and Southern Avenue. Additionally, New Orleans native Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph will join the band as the featured singer for the tour. 

Tickets for Galactic’s 25th Anniversary Tour go on sale on Friday, November 8 at 10 a.m. local time. Galactic will also end the year with their annual hometown show at their own venue, New Orleans’ Tipitina’s, with help from Southern Avenue.
