On Saturday, Billy Strings gave a nod to Widespread Panic in their hometown of Athens, Ga. by opening his second set at the Georgia Theatre with WSP live favorite “All Time Low.”

The cover even caught the attention of WSP bassist Dave Schools who shared a clip of the tune via IG and wrote, “Check out @billystrings  ripping @widespreadpanichq tune ‘All Time Low’ a new one at the @georgiatheatre in Athens Saturday night… Honored! BTW Billy’s got a killer new record coming out soon with a fresh single on the streaming services now.”

Over the last few months Strings has been increasingly present in Widespread Panic’s world, even sitting in with the band for five tunes during their acoustic run at the Ryman Auditorium.

Other highlights from Strings’ Georgia Theatre show include a set-one version of Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs’ “Bringin’ in the Georgia Mail” and a twangy encore of Cher’s “Believe.”
