Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have announced their New Year’s Eve plans, which will see the Baltimore-based group head down to Asheville, NC, for a two-night stint, which will include their first official arena show on Dec. 31.
First up for Pigeons is an intimate performance at The Orange Peel on Dec. 30, followed by a NYE show at ExploreAsheville.com Arena that the band has dubbed The Electric Kool-Aid Asheville Test: A Psychedelic New Year’s Celebration. The night will mark Pigeons’ first arena show and will also feature music from TAUK.
“It’s become a band tradition to go big for our New Year’s Eve runs, and this year’s themed celebration promises to be our craziest one yet with The Electric Kool-Aid Asheville Test,” Pigeons frontman Greg Ormont says in the group’s announcement. “We’re busting out all the stops for our first-ever arena show. All I can say is, expect the unexpected. Can you pass the Asheville test?”
Tickets for the NYE show go on sale Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. ET. A pre-sale will take place tomorrow, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. ET with password PIGEONS here. (Tickets to the Dec. 30 show will only be available with a two-night pass to the full Asheville run.)
