More than 35 years after co-founding Sonic Youth, Kim Gordon has announced that she will release her debut solo album.

The new LP – dubbed No Home Record – will drop on Oct. 11 via Matador Records.

“‘Why a solo record? And why now?,’” Gordon questioned via press release. “I don’t know, but it wouldn’t have happened without the persistence of [producer] Justin Raisen. Living in LA the last few years it feels like home, but the transience of the place makes it feel sometimes like no home.”
