Railroad Earth played two shows at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park in their home state of New Jersey this past weekend, beginning with a Friday-night show that featured a special tribute to Jeff Austin, the mandolinist and Yonder Mountain String Band founder that passed away late last month.

Since the passing of their own Andy Goessling, Railroad Earth have been playing with a few different musicians, and Friday’s show featured keyboardist Matt Slocum and multi-instrumentalist Mike Robinson. As JamBase reports, near the middle of the show’s second set, Robinson—a former member of the Jeff Austin Band—took over lead vocals for a cover of Austin’s “Even Fade,” a debut for RRE.

Below, watch footage of the collaborative tribute via David Sussman on Facebook. Railroad Earth continue their summer schedule later this week with appearances at Wes Virginia’s 4848 Festival July 13 and New York City’s SummerStage concert series July 14.
