Vampire Weekend released their highly anticipated new studio album, Father of the Bride, earlier this month, and the band continues to roll out music videos for some of the singles off the effort, today sharing the one that accompanies “This Life.”

As with the track itself—a rollicking summer tune featuring heavy, seemingly incongruous lyrics like “And I was told that war was how we landed on these shores/ I just thought the drums of war beat louder warnings”—the video feels sunny but with an undercurrent of introspection, following a Southern California driver named Wade who picks up the likes of Danielle Haim (the HAIM singer who is featured on the track and a couple other Father of the Bride cuts) and others and ends up at what looks like a Jewish Shabbat dinner, led by producer and FOTB collaborator Mark Ronson.

Watch the “This Life” video below. Vampire Weekend play this Saturday at UK’s Big Weekend before returning to North America for a tour that kicks off June 5 in Toronto. See the band’s full schedule here.
