Twiddle and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s co-headlining tour had its grand finale at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Thursday night, with two individual sets as well as a special, collaborative “TwidGeons” set that culminated with a cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, complete with a 20-Person choir.

After Pigeons Playing Ping Pong played their second-ever set at the famed venue – which featured old favorites like “The Liquid” and newer tunes like “Yo Soy Fiesta” – and Twiddle offered their own 10-song set, featuring a sit-in by violinist Richard Vagner on “Subconscious Prelude,” both bands joined forces for a third, cover-laden offering.

The Twidgeons set kicked off with a version of Twiddle’s “Apples” with additional instrumentation by Torrin Daniels of opening act Kitchen Dwellers.

The entire Kitchen Dwellers gang jumped onstage for the following tune, their own “Visions of Mohr,” and Torin stuck around for the following versions of The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles),” PPPP’s “F.U.” and Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer.”

As the show began to draw to a close, PPPP frontman Greg Ormont and Twiddle frontman Mihali paired up for an a capella duet on Simon & Garfunkle’s “Sound of Silence.”

However, the true finale came with the aforementioned “Bohemian Rhapsody” with Ormont and Twiddle drummer Brook Jordan trading vocal duties alongside the volunteer, 20-person Denver Choir League.
