Gov’t Mule and Jack Pearson: Wanee 2016

On Friday, April 26, Gov’t Mule celebrated the Allman Brothers in the band’s adopted hometown of Macon, Ga. with a special appearance by former ABB guitarist Jack Pearson.

Gov’t Mule’s first half consisted of tunes like “Grinnin’ In Your Face”> “Mule” and a nice “Down On The Brazos”> “Tributary Jam” segment before closing out with Revolution Come…Revolution Go cut “Stone Cold Rage.”

The real highlight of the evening came in set two, with an appearance by Pearson on ABB favorites “Soulshine,” “Bluesky,” “Dreams,” “Jessica” and “Whipping Post,” with the final tune featuring a tease of “Les Brers In A Minor.” (In the past, Gov’t Mule jammed with Pearson at the 2016 and 2017 Wanee Festival. He served as the Allman Brothers’ guitarist from 1997-1999.)
