At this year’s Hudson Valley Music Summit, Relix editor Dean Budnick is set to interview Capitol Theatre owner (and Relix publisher) Peter Shapiro about his role in acquiring and restoring the famed Port Chester, NY venue.
As reads the event description, “In 2012, Port Chester’s The Capitol Theatre underwent a game-changing restoration under the guidance of entrepreneur Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, LOCKN’ Festival, the “Fare Thee Well” Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary stadium shows, music magazine Relix, FANS). Since then, The Capitol has hosted many of music’s most prominent performers including Bob Dylan, Phil Lesh, Ringo Starr, Skrillex, Snoop Dogg, The Strokes, Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, and many more. The venue, which dates back to its opening in 1926, is known as ‘the original rock palace,’ which showcased rock legends such as Black Sabbath, Chuck Berry, David Bowie, Derek and the Dominos, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, and The Rolling Stones, Phish, and the Grateful Dead, from 1970 to the late 1990s. Peter Shapiro and Relix Magazine‘s Editor-in-Chief Dean Budnick will discuss the venue’s revival and its impact on the Hudson Valley.”
The Hudson Valley Music Summit is scheduled for Aug. 7 in Kingston, NY.

What ????
April 24, 2019 at 9:55 amThis is like having the President’s daughter interview the President. What are we really going to learn? And check your geography, the Capitol abuts Greenwich, CT and some of the most expensive real estate in the world (excepting the sleazy bum ridden area where it sits) – and hardly near the Hudson River Valley.
