Umphrey’s McGee returned to the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA, on Sunday night for round three of four of their continuing New Year’s Eve run, and the band marked the occasion by welcoming a few special guests, including Dave Matthews Band saxophonist Jeff Coffin and a couple of Vulfpeck collaborators, vocalist Antwaun Stanley and guitarist Cory Wong.

After offering a couple of bustout covers on Saturday night (the first runs of Wings’ “Band On the Run” since early 2011 and Rush’s “YYZ” since spring 2015), Umphrey’s continued the run last night with a show full of live staples and much more. The first set rounded out with Coffin’s two-song sit in, starting with “Made to Measure” followed by UM’s debut cover of Jamiroquai’s ’90s hit “Virtual Insanity,” which also featured Wong (who opened last night’s show) and usual UM guitarist Jake Cinninger on keyboards. Set number two was highlighted by the return of “Can’t Rock My Dream Face,” a mashup of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” Michael Jackson’s “Rock With Me” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” that first appeared during Umphrey’s McGee’s Halloween set in 2015 and was later included in the band’s 2016 studio mashup album Zonkey. Stanley, who guested with Wong during his opening set, was recruited for the live mashup, taking lead vocals.

After the early Umph tune “All In Time” closed out the second set, the band returned to the stage for an encore of “The Triple Wide,” which featured an interpolation of the aforementioned “Dreams,” and a bookend of “1348,” which also opened up the first set on Sunday night.
