Dave Matthews Band kicked off their run of fall tour dates on Tuesday night in Columbus, OH, with a show at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center, and the band continued to offer cuts from their most recent album, Come Tomorrow, along with dusting off some rarer additions to their live repertoire.

After opening the night with “You Never Know” and a few staples in “Satellite,” “Don’t Drink the Water” and Come Tomorrow‘s “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin),” Matthews and company offered the first run of the rare “Kill the King” since June 2011 and only the second since 2006. The band then returned to the well of classics with tunes like “Say Goodbye,” “Dancing Nancies” and “What Would You Say,” then arrived at the second biggest bustout of the night, their cover of Aerosmith’s hit “Sweet Emotion,” its first appearance since January 2013. Just two songs later, Matthews played “Sleep to Dream Her” from 2001’s Everyday for the first time since May 2013.

The rest of last night’s show mostly stuck to songs that DMB featured heavily on their summer tour this year, including more Come Tomorrow tracks “Here On Out” and “She,” plus a set-closing run of the band’s signature pairing of “Jimi Thing” into Prince’s “Sexy M.F.” The evening’s encore then brought back “Break Free” for the first time since August 2016, then rounded out with “Rapunzel.”
