Emerging on Twitter for the first time since a rash of sexual misconduct allegations and his removal from Dave Matthews Band, violinist Boyd Tinsley has announced he “will be back on stage again sooner than later.”

Tinsley broke his silence on his personal Twitter page on Nov. 12, writing, “I hope everyone is well. I’ve missed talking to you all.” Later, on Nov. 13, he shared a video from his side project Crystal Garden, which he specifies features “the remaining 3 members of Crystal Garden.”

The video was originally posted to YouTube in May 2018 and it does not feature trumpet player and songwriter James Frost-Winn, who accused Tinsley of escalating acts of sexual misconduct for over a decade.

“In retrospect, he was absolutely grooming me,” Frost-Winn told Consequence of Sound when the story broke in May 2018. “I considered him like a brother, my family, especially after my mother passed—he was one of the positive role models in my life. I invested a lot into a relationship that was ultimately very bad for me. I first met him being homeless and 18 and new to experiencing the world. I felt very betrayed at the end of this.”

In light of the accusations – which included everything from violent outbursts to unwarranted sexual text messages to, at one point, standing over a sleeping Frost-Winn and masturbating – Tinsley was permanently removed from Dave Matthews Band. “We are shocked by these disturbing allegations and we were not previously aware of them,” the band said in a statement to the press.

Frost-Winn filed a lawsuit against Tinsely on May 17, 2018 in Washington State, citing a “hostile work environment,” and seeking $9 million in damages.

Despite his ejection from DMB, Tinsely’s Twitter handle still references the band (@bt_dmb), his description reads “violinist for DMB” and his header image depicts him and Matthews performing onstage.
