Wanee Music Festival, which has taken place annually at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, since 2005, will not return to its longtime home in 2019, festival organizers have announced via a statement on their website.
“The traditional weekend for the Wanee Music Festival in 2019 falls on the same weekend as Good Friday, Easter and Passover,” the note begins. The organizers go on to cite the fact that music fans want to spend time with family during those religious holidays as the main reason that Wanee “will not take place in 2019 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.”
It is not currently clear if Wanee will not take place at all in 2019 or if the venue and weekend will simply be changed. The festival’s note ends by telling fans to “stay tuned for future Wanee announcements.”
Since 2005, Wanee has been a springtime haven for jamband and Southern-rock music in Florida. Hosted by the Allman Brothers Band until their final shows in 2014, Wanee most recently offered headlining sets from Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band, among others.

November 5, 2018 at 2:58 pmSTEVE, just curious on how Wanee screwed over Warren?
Dun.
November 5, 2018 at 2:36 pmIMO Wanee has been done since the ABB 2014 year. Looks like WSP at 420 Fest 2019 would have taken away lots of fans anyhow……next Fest to RIP will probably be Mtn Jam at Hunter……..

November 5, 2018 at 6:26 pmMountain Jam’s attendance last year was so bad there is little to no chance of that going on. That would have to try and get it back to their roots and it is a little late for that now.

November 5, 2018 at 2:01 pmLive Nation has turned one of the best festivals in the country into “Just Another LiveNation ClusterFest.”
They screwed Warren over last year and WSP is no longer obligated to play there, so they don’t want to.
It’s not coming back. And if it does, it will be in name only.
