Sierra Nevada has a history of being particularly jam friendly (in 2009, they brewed the Foam Pilsner for Phish’s Festival 8). Now, the California-based brewery has shared the Zappa Wild Stache IPA, a new beer inspired by the enigmatic and prolific Frank Zappa.
The brewery was inspired by Zappa’s famous quote, “You can’t be a real country unless you have a beer,” and crafted the Wild Stache IPA with a batch of “untamed” wild hops from Washington’s CLS Farms.
According to Sierra Nevada, the Wild Stache IPA is “as wild and distinctive as Zappa himself,” and it will be released tonight, Friday Oct. 26, at The Pikey in Los Angeles, starting at 8 p.m.

October 27, 2018 at 7:32 am“You can’t be a real country unless you have a beer.” So that’s dozens of Muslim countries that aren’t ‘real’, then.
Zappa said a few very dumb things along with the smarter stuff.

October 27, 2018 at 7:25 amThink they didn’t agree to it? Sierra Nevada is too big and too smart to open themselves up to so easy a copyright infringement. Its in tribute, not that Frank liked beer. Think Washington walked down all those streets named after him?
