Dave Matthew Band continued the final leg of their summer tour with another western show at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena in Stateline, NV, on Friday night, and during the performance, the group honored their late friend, saxophonist and band co-founder LeRoi Moore, who passed away in 2008 and would have celebrated his 57th birthday yesterday.

Along with live staples like “Satellite,” “#41,” “Warehouse” and “Ants Marching,” plus tracks from DMB’s recent studio album Come Tomorrow, the band dusted off “#34,” a tune that appeared on 1994’s Under the Table and Dreaming and was co-written by Moore, for the first time since Moore’s birthday in 2013, a span of 366 shows. “#34” was also used as the music for a video tribute to Moore that DMB showed during shows at the end of their 2008 summer tour after the musician’s death.

Matthews recently appeared on SiriusXM for an interview that was aired in segments as part of the limited-run Dave Matthews Band Channel and spoke on his reverence for Moore as a person and a musician, noting that an old recording of the saxophonist appears on Come Tomorrow track “The Idea of You” and calling Moore “one of the greatest friends I’ve had, and certainly one of the greatest musicians I ever heard.”

See the full setlist from last night as it appears in our Box Scores section, along with fan-shot video of “Warehouse.” Next up for Dave Matthews Band is a show tonight at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA.
