Rock and roll psychonauts King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard recently took Seattle’s KEXP by storm, serving up six tracks from both 2017’s Polygondwanaland and Gumboot Soup.
With a fervent fanbases in both the eastern and western hemispheres, the Australian collective is notoriously prolific. Since January 2017, King Gizzard has released five individual records, making their grand total 13 LPs over six years.
“We go through these periods where it’s ultra loose and we don’t write setlists and it’s called out—and things can turn into other things,” frontman Stu Mackenzie recently told Relix. “That’s the most enjoyable for me, but it can really go either way. I stand in the middle so I can kind of, like, point and tell everyone sort of what to do.”
