On Saturday, tripartite cover band Pink Talking Fish offered up a special show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, welcoming several guests to help them deliver a full-album performance of Pink Floyd’s classic 1979 album The Wall, mixed in, as always, with covers of Talking Heads and Phish tunes.
PTF kicked off the night with the first two songs from the record, “In the Flesh?” and “The Thin Ice” before inserting the first non-album cut of the night, Phish’s “Punch You in the Eye.” The band then brought up the night’s guests, Turkuaz vocalists Shira Elias and Sammi Garett, Dopapod guitarist Rob Compa and Percy Hill’s Nate Wilson, for “Another Brick in the Wall Part 1.”
Throughout the night, the host band wove in and out of The Wall‘s tracks, mostly playing them back-to-back, but with several impressive insertions of covers like Talking Heads tunes “Burning Down the House,” “Psycho Killer,” “The Great Curve” and “Slippery People” and Phish’s “Wilson,” “Big Black Furry Creature From Mars,” “Maze” and a couple covers from Phish’s repertoire, TV On the Radio’s “Golden Age” and The Rolling Stones’ “Loving Cup,” which served as the night’s encore.
