The Grateful Dead’s iconic album marked four decades yesterday with a number of artists chiming in on its significance including Ryan Adams, who tweeted: “Happy 40th to the weirdest and best record/teleportation device ever made.”

Later this year, Phil Lesh will team up with Bob Weir and the Terrapin Family Band at Lockn’ Festival for a special recreation of the album in honor of the landmark anniversary.
