Wilco have announced they will release their 10th studio album, Schmilco, on September 9 via the band’s dBpm Records. The album follows up last year’s surprise summer release, Star Wars.

Schmilco is a mostly-acoustic album of 12 new songs that a press release calls “an intentionally loose affair.” “I think this record is ‘joyously negative,’” frontman and songwriter Jeff Tweedy says. “It’s sad in a lot of ways but not in any that reach a conclusion of doom or hopelessness. I just had a lot of fun being sour about the things that upset me.”

Wilco previously shared the first single from the new album, “Locator,” for free last week, and that tune along with new single “If I Ever Was A Child” are available for download now with a pre-order of Schmilco. Go here for more information.
