Tulane will celebrate this weekend’s homecoming football game in classic New Orleans style when some big names in NOLA funk come together at Howlin Wolf.

This Saturday, November 7, original Meters bassist George Porter Jr. will join Funky Meters drummer Russell Batiste and Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan and Ian Neville for the 25th Reunion Celebrating All Reunions, a special event for Tulane alumni and parents. Porter originally formed the iconic Meters with Art Neville, who is father to Ian and uncle to Ivan. More information on the homecoming show is available here.

A few days later up north, a similarly funky show will be held at Brooklyn Bowl, when original Meters guitarist Leo Nocentelli teams up with Dumpstaphunk’s Tony Hall, the Nth Power’s Nikki Glaspie and Mark Rechler from Icons of Funk. The concert is set for November 11. Tickets are available here.
