STS9 treated fans to a full set of improv during last night’s benefit for Conscious Alliance at the the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. The event, which began with a formal dinner that was hosted by the band, saw STS9 work through a number of open-ended jams, a couple of which were loosely based on songs from their catalog.

Last night’s performance was billed as a special event, though no one was sure what STS9 had in store for their fans. The surprise all-improv set comes the day after the band wrapped up their most exciting year in some time with a more traditional New Year’s Eve show at the same venue. They will continue that run tonight and tomorrow, when they return to the Fillmore Auditorium for two more shows.
