Marco Benevento kept the post-Phish party going real late last night at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. The piano wizard and his trio played a number of original staples such as “The Real Morning Party,” “Limbs of a Pine” and “RISD,” as well as some choice covers, including Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” Elton John’s “Benny and the Jets” and Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5.” At one point during the show, Benevento was joined by an audience member named Holly who proved herself to be quite familiar with his material. The surprise guest—who also played with Benevento in San Francisco earlier this year—sat in for a very crowd-pleasing “Atari” and “Twin Killers,” with Benevento bowing down in honor of Holly’s abilities.

Benevento will lead the lead the Midnight Ramble Band in a special New Year’s Eve Ramble tonight at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY.
