Gov’t Mule welcomed several guests last night during their show at Houston’s Bayou Music Center. Warren Haynes and company invited a familiar guest, Hook Herrera, on harmonica for a set-closing version of “32/30 Blues.” Herrera wasn’t quite done as he returned during the encore for performances of “Help Me” and “Gonna Send You Back to Georgia.”

Along with Herrera, Mule included members of Vintage Trouble, the band who opened the show in Houston. Nalle Colt joined with Herrera during the encore, and guitarist Ty Taylor came out for the second set closer, “Bring On the Music.”

Hook Herrera is a familiar sight to Mule fans, sitting in numerous times over the years, including several Mountain Jam performances. Herrera most recently joined the band during their September show at NYC’s Best Buy Theatre. Gov’t Mule closes their tour tonight in Dallas, TX. Their New Year’s run will begin on December 27 with a show at Philadelphia’s Tower Theatre where the band will share the stage with Soulive.
