Some old school Rusted Root

Rusted Root plans to enter the studio to work on a new album slated for release this March. The group is testing a handful of their newest songs on the road and will showcase their new material at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge on October 21 during CMJ. The group is now also asking fans to support the recording of their new album through the Fortunate Freaks Unite: We Are Rusted Root campaign. Though Rusted Roots’ breakthrough releases were issued on Mercury Records, the band has since returned to their independent roots.

A message from the band reads:

You have always been extremely supportive and gracious in all of our endeavors, and we THANK YOU for all the love and loyalty that helps us continue to do all that Rusted Root does! The music industry has changed so much over the last many years and we’ve been able to weather the storms only because of YOU!

We have been on our own independent record label now for quite a few years, and we’ve been funding all of our albums by ourselves, which is truly a challenge. This time, we are asking you to be a part of the Rusted Root team, and help us put out this new album. We’ve just launched our new album campaign: “FORTUNATE FREAKS UNITE: WE ARE RUSTED ROOT” and we’re offering a bunch of sponsorship levels with great perks including some very cool once in a lifetime opportunities with Rusted Root. Each package ranges in price and items so you can choose what you are most interested in! Perks vary from digital items to signed memorabilia to private online shows, to having Rusted Root play live in your living room! All of the money we raise will go directly to the creation of the next Rusted Root album. No record labels, no management or agent commissions, no cushy massages, candy bars or frou frou spa treatments. We know that not everyone can afford all of the packages, but we really appreciate any contribution to the cause! Every dollar is a dollar more than we had before…”

Please consider becoming part of our FORTUNATE FREAKS MOVEMENT, we would be forever grateful, seriously!
