This year the Green Apple Festival will focus on service, while expanding to ten cities. Along with the Earth Day Network, the Green Apple Festival has announced plans for Americas Largest Earth Day Action.’ From April 17-19 simultaneous volunteer projects will be organized in New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. These efforts will culminate on Sunday, April 19th with free ‘Thank You Concerts’ for volunteers in each city while a national event, ‘Earth Day on the National Mall’ will take place in Washington, DC. The artists and additional venues will be announced in the coming weeks, while those who wish to volunteer can sign up at greenapplefestival.com.
