Mike Gordon and his current quintet performed the second night of its pre-New Year’s Eve run last evening in Portsmouth, NH. The four show tour opened on Saturday at Lupo’s in Providence where the band, which also is comprised of Scott Murawski, Todd Isler, Tom Cleary and Craig Myers, delivered a new Gordon original, ‘Only A Dream.’ The night also featured Murawski on vocals for his song, ‘Willow Tree,’ while the group dipped into the Phish catalog for ‘Meat.’ Then at the Portsmouth Music Hall on Sunday, Murawski again stepped to the mic for his ‘Cruel World,’ during a show that also featured the group’s first-ever version of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Living For the City’ as well as covers of C+C Music Factory’s ‘Things That Make You Go Hmmm’ and the Doobie Brothers’ ‘Taking It To The Streets.’ The group travels to Killington, VT tonight for a show at the Pickle Barrel Night Club.
