Sound Tribe Sector 9 headlined Morrison, COs Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the third year in a row this past Friday and Saturday. Like the groups previous Red Rocks shows, an eclectic mix of hip-hop and electronica acts supported the group throughout the weekend, including Talib Kweli, Flying Lotus, Ghostland Observatory and Bassnectar. STS9 also played an intimate warm up show at Boulders Boulder Theatre Thursday that drew in resident STS9 MC Scottrohedron on a slow-closing take on EB, a song which appears on the album Offered Schematics.
STS9 bassist David Murphy also accompanied fans who made travel arrangements through Consider it Dan on a tour of Red Rocks led by area parks department and, afterwards, escorted fans backstage for a rare peak at what goes on behind the curtain. Late night Saturday, Murphy and Pnuma Trio drummer Lane Shaw both sat in with Conspirator throughout the groups entire performance at Englewood, COs Gothic Theatre. STS9 will appear next at San Diego, CAs Street Scene festival on September 20, while Conspirators Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner will join the rest of the Disco Biscuits for a performance at Boulders Tatanka Music Festival on September
