After spending the past few weeks writing and recording new material, Steve Molitz will hit the road with a cross-section of new and old friends. First up, the Particle keyboardist will perform a four show run with Phil Lesh & Friends, including the bassists Mardi Gras Ball at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on January 26. Molitz will then play a series of shows with the String Cheese Incident offshoot EOTO, including stops in Los Angeles (2/1), San Diego (2/2), Santa Barbara (2/3), San Luis Obispo (2/5), Santa Cruz, CA (2/6) and Crystal Bay (2/7). The idea for the highly improvisational tour emerged after Travis, Hann and Molitz first played together as part of the Symbiosis Orchestra at San Franciscos Regency Ballroom on December 29. From there, Molitz will reunite with longtime pals Stephen Perkins, Rob Wasserman and Willie Waldman for three Banyan shows in the San Francisco-area.
