Last night Spin Doctors frontman Chris Barron played an intimate free show at the New York singer/songwriter haven the Rockwood Music Hall with his new band the Time Bandits. The ensemble, which features Barron on guitar and vocals, Phil Cimino on drums, Jon Loyd on piano and Tim Givens on bass, ran through a number of songs from Barron’s songbook for an to a crowd of approximately 35 fans, including longtime Spin Doctors drummer Aaron Comess. At the end of his 50 minute set Barron announced from the stage that ‘the Spin Doctors are still together…and I’m happy about that’ and invited Comess up for a show closing rendition of their early 1990s hit ‘Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong.’ The Spin Doctors will perform at Rye, NY’s American Yacht Club this Friday.
